Day:1 - CATANIA - Night on the Jonic Coast
ARRIVE at Catania airport in the afternoon. Transfer to the hire car and then straight on to hotel in the suburb of Acireale / Giardini Naxos for the overnight stay.
We suggest you:
visit of the Jonic Riviera: Acitrezza, Acicastello and Acireale
after dinner spend the evening walking around the Catania's sumptuous baroque centre

Day:2 - ETNA > TAORMINA - Night on the Jonic Coast
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning excursion to the area around the summit of Mt ETNA, Europe's highest active volcano. Hot lava flows almost constantly from one of the many fissures beneath the main craters. In the afternoon visit of TAORMINA, one of Sicily's most picturesque town, to see the GREEK THEATRE open towards Etna and the sea, and the PALAZZO CORVAIA.
Return to the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day:3 - SIRACUSA > CATANIA - Night on the Jonic Coast
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning departure for SIRACUSA to see the ROMAN AMPHITHEATRE, the ALTAR OF HIERON, the GREEK THEATRE , still used, the LATOMIE, great stone quarries, and the famous ORECCHIO DI DIONISO. Visit of the Island of Ortygia connected by a bridge to the mainland, where stand the FOUNTAIN OF ARETHUSA, planted with papyrus, and the DUOMO, baroque in style. In the afternoon visit of the historical centre of CATANIA, rich in buildings constructed in lava stone. In Piazza Duomo you'll see the CATHEDRAL and the ELEPHANT FOUNTAIN, the symbol of Catania, then VIA ETNEA, VIA CROCIFERI, probably the city's most interesting street, and CASTELLO URSINO, a powerful building. Inside is the Civic Museum, which includes finds from the Roman era up to the 18th century. Return to hotel for the overnight stay.

Day:4 - PIAZZA ARMERINA > CALTAGIRONE - Night in suburb of Piazza Armerina / Caltagirone
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for CALTAGIRONE, elegant baroque town, renowed throughout Sicily for the high quality of its ceramics, which have been produced here for over 1000 years. The most evocative sight in town is a set of steps, the SCALINATA DI SANTA MARIA DEL MONTE, which rises up from Piazza Municipio to the Chiesa di Santa Maria del Monte, at the top of the town. Each of 142 steps is decorated with hand-painted ceramics, and no two are the same. On either side of the steps are rows of ceramic workshop where you can watch local artisian and admire their handiwork. In the afternoon you'll reach PIAZZA ARMERINA to admire the Roman VILLA DEL CASALE, one of the most outstanding archaeological testimonies of Roman Sicily of the Imperial Age with the various series of beautiful ornamental and polychrome mosaics.
Afterwards arrive at the hotel for overnight stay

Day:5 - AGRIGENTO > SELINUNTE - Night in suburb of Agrigento/Sciacca
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning visit to the extraordinary ruins of the VALLE DEI TEMPLI of Agrigento, one of Sicily's premier attractions, with the imposing Temple of Juno, the perfect Temple of Concord, the colossal Temple of Olympic Jove and that of Hercules, perhaps the oldest. In the afternoon you'll move on to SELINUNTE, the most important archaelogical site in the Mediterranean area. In a unique atmosphere, there are preserved the colossal remains of eight temples in the purest Doric style.
Continue to the hotel in suburb of Palermo for overnight stay.

Day:6 - ERICE > SEGESTA - Night in suburb of Palermo
After breakfast at the hotel, departure for ERICE, overlooking Trapani from a superb scenic location, that has maintained the fascinatining atmosphere of an old medieval village with its paved streets, its little squares and narrow winding alleys opening onto lovely countryards full of flower. In the afternoon you'll visit SEGESTA surrounded by a range of gently sloping hills which enclose two precious jewels, the TEMPLE and the THEATRE, an incomparable combination of architectural elegance dated to the 2nd century BC with great views of the surrounding countryside. Return to the hotel for overnight stay. After dinner can be pleasant to take a walk around Palermo's sumptuous centre to see Piazza Politeama, Piazza Verdi and the famous Teatro Massimo.

visit of MARSALA, to Museo del Baglio Anselmi, to the Cantine Florio. Florio opens its doors to visitors to explain the process of making cream Marsala wine and to give you a taste of the goods
visit of the saline (saltpans) of Marsala and to Salt Museum, at Nubia, housed in a 17th century salt mill.
Visit of ISLE OF MOTHIA, in the Stagnone lagoon, and of its Whitaker Museum

Day:7 - PALERMO > MONREALE - Night in suburb of Palermo
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning dedicated to visit of PALERMO to see the CATHEDRAL which contains the sarcophagi of Frederick II and other royal tombs, the PALAZZO DEI NORMANNI, the CAPPELLA PALATINA, a magnificent example of Arab-Norman artistic genius and decorated with Byzantine mosaics, the picturesque CHIESA DI SAN GIOVANNI DEGLI EREMITI topped by five red domes of clearly Muslim style, the CLOISTER, setting in the garden full of various plants and citrus fruit trees, the scenographic QUATTRO CANTI, the old centre of the city and the spectacular PIAZZA PRETORIA, entirely occupied by the celebrated Fountain decorated with mythological statues and named Fountain of Shame because of its nude motifs. In the afternoon straight to MONREALE to see the CATHEDRAL, covered with mosaics on a gold background, and the BENEDECTINE ABBEY. Departure for Catania and overnight stay at the hotel.
We suggest you:
Visit of the "Vucciria", in Caracciolo Square and neighbouring area, a market where you can find everything: fresh fish, food stuffs, fruits and vegetables etc. All these things are displayed on stalls or hung in front of the stores

NB. In order to make it easier the car release,  the driver must show his credit card for the guarantee deposit. The typology of the car is subdued to the availability of a similar car at the pick up. The release and the pick-up time must coincide. A maximum delay of 59 minutes is allowed after which 1 extra rental day will be charged.
